Some Background:
Myself, Eliza May and a few of our friends set out to bring Eliza's EP to life by creating multiple music videos, a merch line and finally hosting a full EP Launch for everything. This small portfolio page is documenting the Music Video and Merch Creation.
Merch Making!
With the help of our friend we developed some art for the EP Singles of Candy Heart. I then used Inkscape to create the final designs for the Merch. These designs needed to be Vector images so they could be printed onto items (Shirts, Bags etc). Unfortunately the initial art drawings were PNG, so this involved me learning how to manually convert them to vector based graphics. These images show the final results.
Planning the Music Video:
Just like any project, even music videos need to be planned. Myself and Eliza got to work breaking down the singles into their component parts and thinking of creative ways to show them in the video.
We listed all the things we would want to do and attempted to structure them into order of importance. This was to help things run smoothly in the studio we had booked, as the timeframe was very short to shoot a full music video. So getting the important things done first meant if we ran out of studio time the rest could be done in other scenes.

Creating the Props:
Once the video had been planned, we now knew what props we would require to make it come to life.
Unfortunately we missed out on receiving some funding to help support the release of this EP and so the overall budget for this project was very small. Not to worry, myself and Eliza decided to hand craft all the props used for the music video. This took a good deal of tutorial learning and experimentation, it also turned out to be a great couples activity and we had such a laugh making Piñata hearts and fluffy clouds!
This video shows a clip of me cutting out one of the many cardboard hearts <3
Filming Fun:
The day was upon us and we had arrived at the studio. The clock was ticking and so it was time to put our acting shoes on.
Despite acting in the Music Videos my main role was directing, ensuring we were sticking to the plan, running on time and that everything was looking great!
Alongside this I captured behind the scenes content which would be used to create promotional content. Here is some of the footage:
